Let's Use That 6x6 Mega Pad and Cut-a-parts!

Hooray! You made it to the second layout in our Free Bookish Tutorial series, hopefully now you have lost all that "New Collection Anxiety" since we have cut into it and gotten crafty! It's time to stretch our skills and use something we know people struggle with - the small paper pads and cut-a-part sheets.

To ease into using these tricky supplies we are going to rely on a tried and true layout style - the grid pattern! This is one you can use time and time again and each different collection, images, cut-a-parts and photos will make it look unique.

Whilst this blog post touches on some of the highlights of the tutorial, we encourage you to watch the step by step Youtube video at the bottom of this blog post with all the details.

In the tutorial we took the cut-a-parts that suited our story and photo and matted them on white and black cardstock - this added so much extra detail that draws your eye in. Then we chose a patterned paper to also matt the element with to add more colour and style to the layout.

We arranged these in a grid layout with our photos included and left a little space for our title to fit. Depending on the elements you use, you can re-arrange this laid back grid style to suit your needs!

As part of the grid design we also included elements from the ephemera and frames and tags packets -  a great way to use up some of the larger and trickier pieces. We then added some light embellishments using the sticker sheet and some fussy cut florals left over from the last layout. We didn't need too much as the layout was already quite heavy from the cut-a-part sheets.

Make sure to check out the video below for the full tutorial, tips and techniques.
