Tone on Tone? - Count Me In!

I personally can not go past a tone on tone technique, especially when trying to use up the left overs of a collection. This page came together so quickly and was stress free thanks to not having to figure out the "best" place for the embellishments.
First I found the striped pattern paper from the Simple Stories - Fun Times collection and cut 2 inches off each of the colours then cut them into their individual colours strips. To add some flair and fit in with our upcoming Technique Tuesday series I added some Distress Oxide inks by ink blending, in what I like to call, a "Halo Effect". This added some more colour and interest to the page whilst keeping with the tone on tone theme.

After adhering each strip down with a slight overlap I took to the faux stitching with a black pen to define each edge and add interest. Then it was time to add the photos - keeping it simple with three 3x4 photos spaced across.

Next was placing the title, again keeping it simple with a very central placed title but adding a little interest by mixing up my font and size of alphabet stickers - this is a fantastic way to draw your eye into the title when your page is a little busy like mine.

Now for the fun bit - the embellishments. I added stickers, ephemera, bling and tiny word stickers in a rough tone on tone fashion. This simply means keeping the pink things with the pink background, the yellow with the yellow and so on. I honestly was not too picky about this and you will see some yellow flows into the green and orange but all in all its tone on tone.
