Create A Colourful Layout With A Blast!
Today's layout is about two things; first I am using the NEW Fun Times collection from one of my favourite scrapbooking companies - Simple Stories. And second! we are going back to a tried and true layout design to get rid of all the anxiety that comes with a brand new collection.
I know when I am starting out with a brand new collection that I have had my eye on for a while, those jitters and butterfly feelings come in when it becomes time to use it. I call this "new product anxiety" and I am almost sure it happens more frequently than people would like to admit. To overcome this anxiety I shop my pre-made layouts for a design I know I love and can do.
For this layout it was the ever so classic "Sunburst" technique that never seems to go out of fashion. I started with the sunburst piece of paper in the collection and cut five rainbow strips from it. Next I paired my favourite layout design with my favourite mixed media technique - Ink Blending!
Adding in some colour gave those strips of paper some flair and added even more fun colours to the page. With so much going on, the embellishing was easy! I kept it simple and placed a single embellishment on each strip in a tone on tone fashion.
For the title, I kept it simple too! I used one of the pre-made Foam Stickers from the collection, which honestly might be one of my favourite things Simple Stories does for their collections. They just take the guess work out of titles! I finished it off with some bling with sequins and gems and tada! It was done!
