Add Mixed Media in A Non-Messy Way!

In today's layout I used the NEW 49 and Market Botanical Buzz collection that features beautiful greens and yellows. I simply had to add to these colours using some ink blending with soft bristled blending brushes to create a landing for all that good product.

I know a lot of crafters hate getting their hands messy or have a fear of the "unknown" in some of the more unpredictable mixed media techniques. Luckily adding ink via a blending brush is controlled and nearly mess free!

I complimented the ink blending with some distressed stamping using the same colours of ink, Tim Holtz - Distress Ink - Evergreen Bough and Simon Hurley - Stellar Ink - Shooting Star. My go to hexagon stamp has to be the Reverse Hexagons from Aall and Create.

The next element added were several of these stunning rub-ons from the Botanical Buzz collection, I tried to do a tone on tone effect with them with the yellow part of the rub-on going on the yellow ink blending but honestly however you get them on will make them look stunning.

For the embellishing I kept it pretty simple using some of the honeycomb pieces from both the ephemera packet and puffy stickers. A carefully placed chipboard title and some bling in the form of sequins and it was done! A nearly mess-free but highly mixed media style layout.
